Purpose
Harmony House, open since 1990, provides emergency housing,
food
and supportive services to individuals and families who
are homeless, while they
work to reclaim maximum independance.
Harmony House operates 24 hours a day,
365 days a year. Maximum length of stay is 90 days.
Participants include the following:
- People who are in need of short-term housing as a result of a
situational crisis.
- People who are in need of
supportive services as they work to reestablish
permanent housing.
- People who need longer-term services through our transitional housing
program.
Admission Criteria
- Homeless Status
- Age 18 unless accompanied by legal guardian
- Not actively using alcohol/drugs
- Willingness to follow case plan and program rules
Stats:
In a year's period, Harmony House provides 20,000 nights of lodging, 60,000 meals,
comprehensive case management and numerous other services to over 700 homeless men, women,
and children. Approximatley 1/3 of Harmony House residents are disabled, 1/3 employed and 1/3
searching for employment.
